Do You Know what the Opportunity School District Amendment Is?
The Opportunity School District Amendment will be on your ballot this November, down at the bottom of the ballot where many will not see it. Because this is a hotly contested presidential election year, there will be little or no attention to this bill, so ill-informed voters will be making a decision that will hugely impact our schools. Deceptive language makes the bill sound like a really good thing, and who wouldn’t vote for it? Unless you understand the implications of the Governor taking over local schools
Come to the ECDA meeting to learn more about this bill:
What is it? How does it work? Important details.
What is the impact on our schools, our families, children and teachers. In short, our communities.
What happens to the money that is associated with the school?
Who will lead the Opportunity School District, which could have as many as 100 schools in it?
What can we do about this bill?
Come to the meeting on June 28th at the East Cobb Whole Foods on Johnson Ferry and Roswell Road in East Cobb. Dinner starts at 6:00; the meeting starts at 7:00.
